You do not need to be an "advanced" diver to begin:
the course is designed to follow directly after PADI Open Water Diver.
The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your self-confidence
and improve your diving skills so that you feel much more comfortable in the water.
It is a practical way to try new kinds of diving while continuing to learn
and receive feedback from your PADI Instructor.

One of the reasons you will love the Advanced Open Water Diver course
is that you and your Instructor will choose Adventure Dives
needed to complete the course from a list of 15 different ones.
You could try underwater digital photography,
wreck diving, night diving, diving with underwater scooters,
the maximum execution of the structure and many others.
What you'll learn
The theoretical knowledge and skills you acquire with the Advanced Open Water Diver course vary depending on your interests and the adventures you choose, but include:
- the practical aspects of deep diving
- the physiological effects of deep diving.
- other ways to use your underwater compass
- how to navigate using fins, visual references and time
- how to best use your dive computer and the electronic Recreational Dive PlannerTM (eRDPmlTM)
- And much, much more, depending on the Adventure Dives you choose

The following are required to enroll:
- be a PADI Open Water Diver (or have an equivalent certification issued by another training organization)
- be 15 years old (12 for the Junior Advanced Open Water Diver course)

The cost of the course is around € 300.
This includes the manual, the patent,
insurance for diving activities relating to the course and access to the swimming pool.
The "heavy" equipment for the pool sessions can be rented for € 50
for the whole duration of the course; rental for the sea dives is not included.
You are also responsible for the diving services for diving in the sea
and for the € 15 annual membership fee for the RobyMaster Scuba Team ASD.
The balance of the course is not required at the time of enrollment,
an initial deposit is enough
and the balance before going to the sea.

Despite what the name of the course might suggest, you don't have to be "advanced" to attend it - is designed for you to do it immediately after the PADI Open Water Diver.
You will need to have your own complete personal equipment.
If you are missing some pieces you can rent them: for the pool sessions
the rental of the "heavy" equipment costs € 50 for the whole duration of the course.
For the open water dives a rental bundle with dive computer + compass + surface marker buoy
is also available for € 5.
The pool sessions will be held every Tuesday at the Acquatica pool in Turin (Corso Galileo Ferraris, 290):
meeting at 7.45 pm, in the pool from 8.15 pm to 9.45 pm.
Yes, it is necessary to have a Medical Certificate for diving.
The wording "for diving" must be explicitly indicated in the certificate.
Yes, there is a theoretical part. At the beginning of the course you will be provided with a manual and a video.
The manual is divided into chapters,
at the end of each chapter you will find the "Knowledge reviews":
those are the homework that needs to be filled out and given to us
so that we can see if any topics need to be revised.
At the end of the course there will be a theory test with closed-ended questions (crosses)
in which all the theoretical arguments will be revised a bit.
Upon obtaining the Advanced Open Water Diver certification you will be enabled to dive without professional supervision (but always with a partner!) up to a maximum depth of 30 meters.
